Here's the story of how the Kiddie Park song
"The Last Train Ride" came
to be.
In the early 1990's a young mother
named Marta Manning wrote a poem and a song. In her own words,
she shares the love for her children and
of the "special little place" known as "The Kiddie
Park". In 1992
her poem made its debut in an article, published in the Bartlesville
Examiner Enterprise, about "The Kiddie Park". Little
did she know that some 14 years later her poem would become such
a big part of
that "special little place".
Ron Adams aka "Corky the Clown" and also a board member of the Kiddie
Park happened to come across this same article and read it to a group
of people at a bank forum while he was promoting a fundraiser for
the park.
Ron asked Marta if she would be willing to let him see what he could
do to get the song produced. After giving her permission, in early
2004 he contacted some very special friends. And as they say, "The
rest is history!"
Below are pictures of everyone who has played a big part in producing
the song, "The Last Train Ride".
